I don't think the rust will hurt a thing. The shot is going to be enclosed in the wad column while travelling down the barrel. Rick

If you give the shot a good shaking up in a jar, it might rub any rust loose, you could then wash it off and when dry give it a bit of an oiling.The rust can't do much harm in the bore, but it'll fly...
